LaunchVic announces new program to Farmers2Founders Dr Christine Pitt and Skye Raward for agtech entrepreneurs

Agrifood tech leader Farmers2Founders is launching a suite of programs for aspiring entrepreneurs, thanks to a $500,000 grant from LaunchVic and Agriculture Victoria.

The grant will support two programs including a 12-week GROW pre-accelerator program for Victorian agtech startups; and the online TEKSTART program along with regional workshops across Victoria.

Farmers2Founders Executive Director Skye Raward said applications were being sought for entrepreneurs with innovative tech-enabled solutions in areas like animal health and productivity, sustainability, drought resilience and field and crop monitoring.

“We are excited to continue to work with LaunchVic and Agriculture Victoria to build the confidence and capability of Victorian based agtech startups with global potential and increase the talent and diversity within the sector,” she added.

“The support through these initiatives is critical to fuelling the growth of these solutions that can contribute to a more sustainable and productive industry, that feeds and clothes us all.”

Since establishing in 2018 Farmers2Founders has supported hundreds of Australian ag entrepreneurs and startups to scale their solutions. One example is local startup AirAgri, whose farm safety solution is now in use on properties across the country.

“The Farmers2Founders pre-accelerator program was what we needed to help refine and target our passion and ideas,” says Co-Founder James Diamond.

“Without it we wonder if we would have ever seen our destination and associated path at all with such clarity.”

AirAgri has gone onto to win the 2022 Worksafe Victoria Award for Commitment to WH&S on Farm, secure a $50,000 grant from LaunchVic and Agriculture Victoria’s AgTech Grants Program and find their first investors through the Farmers2Founders network.
